A proud hunter and angler with strong beliefs in wild harvest Paul comes from a background of non fishing family, although interested in it from a very young age it was not till his teens when he was able to find fishers in his community to help him get fishing. Whether it was neighbours, family friends or the local fish and chip shop owner he spent his entire teen years self teaching himself how to fish. At 14 Paul remembers fondly doing his work experience at Rex Hunts Fishing World in Flinders Street introducing him to a whole new world of tackle and there was no going back.
Paul fished tournaments many years ago for Bream but is happy to admit he was not great at it, he fished the tournaments because he enjoyed doing them and was able to learn much of what he knows now from the many anglers he fished with over that time.
Fishing for Paul has always been about a life choice rather than a hobby and has absorbed most of his life. Fascinated in the technical aspects of angling he dedicates a lot of time into understanding species and only then how to catch them, catching all sorts of fish from Marlin to Large Mouth Bass he is not a single species angler. In 2010 Paul established a National Squid fishing tournament series that attracted anglers from around the world. Paul is now considered to be the foremost expert on squid and catching them in Australia having caught squid in every state of the country and from various places around the world. Paul has been involved in television programs in Australia, Japan and China and has written many articles on various fishing styles, currently Paul is the producer and host of a live Facebook program called The Live Well that broadcasts weekly covering various fishing related issues. Fishing has taken Paul all over the world and feels he is only just starting to scratch the surface of his angling experience. Having worked with fishing retailer, wholesalers and manufacturers over the last 20 years he considerers himself blessed to see fishing from all angles.
He has a good sponsor base with Gladiator, Gan Craft, GOSEN, Lowrance, Mercury, Balanced Air and Formasign he brings a unique position and fresh outlook to fishing.
Over the last 6 years he has spent much of his time overseas with his sponsors attending fishing tackle shows and exhibitions with a focus on saltwater.
Paul fishes because he loves it, not because he has to.

Background:
Fishing started for me at a very young age, as most do. Fishing with my Pop and Dad soaking baits for flathead, moving on to spinning and fishing for luddrick under a float.
As I got older my passion for Bass grew, especially living close to the mighty Nepean and Hawkesbury Rivers; using lures and exploring many different techniques. Spending most of my time out West and up North with friends after getting my drivers license I broadened my passion across the range of other freshwater species that Australia has to offer, especially the Mighty Murray Cod, which I still hold dear to my heart. I have even had the opportunity to be involved in Cod tagging and DNA research programs held by DPI.
The last couple of years I've tried my hand at fishing small local club competitions, progressing to Family Bassin where I've learnt a great deal more, growing confidence with Gladiator's range of great products and even progressing to fishing the Australian Bass Nations as a Co-Angler. I'm currently looking into fishing the ABT bass electrics out of my newly built electric boat.
